Well, hello there!

Here's a fine thing. I - who have been 'on the 'net' for longer than most people I know have even known it existed and for a couple of years longer than the WWW has existed - am finally starting a blog. Where was this back in 1991 when I wanted one? Or even in 97 when I really could have used it?

OK, so I'm here now, well behind my other friends who know less than I do about building web sites. So what do I intend to talk about? My goofy dogs. Life in the hot place. Motoring in our MINI Cooper, and the extreme satisfaction of creating things. I love yarn, fibers, books, embroidery and all the steps involved in making them.

What's on the needles? Some socks in Koigu (cuz that's what I knit and each pair takes me forever, deal with it!), and a sweater for my sister in law from some Gedifra Gigante that she bought in Germany in September, 2005 and on which I've been working since Christmas of that year. You'd think that a sweater for a moderately thin woman on size 35 (yeppers, 35!) needles would be a snap for someone whose favorite needles are 4" German ebony size not quite 1. Not so! First, it helps if you speak the language in which the pattern is written! Secondly, it just isn't that portable and I love portable projects. She loves it though and I really need to just do it.

Anyhow, welcome to my blog. Welcome to a glimpse of my creative life in Hell, oops, I mean Peoria, AZ.
