What I'm Up To Today...
I've got a few extra pages to make more Goddesses for the book as there are only 7 participants. I'll probably make more in other colors. I think I'll be inspired by the work of the others.
Next up is what I'm planning for the 35 pages I need to get done ASAP for the Chubbyville Pastels swap. I again did some paint-scraping, this time in pastel colors, and added a design element with light colors and a Hydrangea stamp. I found a great light green for the leaves at Frenzy Stamper and paired that with my lavender Chalk Ink for the flowers.
I really liked playing with the pastel colors for the background of this one because that is so totally not my usual color space! The face of the Muse of Spring as I've decided to title my pages, is from a Stampington clear collection. I really like these small, clear stamps a LOT!
On another front, here's what I've been doing with fibers. I got the wonderful Golding ring spindles and the Spindle Kate from my sweetie for Christmas. (Yes, the house is dusty. No, I have no immediate plans to dust. If you don't like it, I should expect you to come take care of it when?)
When Ollie and I went to the Fiber Factory a few weeks ago, I couldn't resist this wonderful dyed Romney wool and bought 4 ounces each of six vibrant colors. My lovelies, you know that if it is vibrantly colored, I am all over it!
After two false starts and some color-blending intervention by a youthfully foolish Golden Retriever (see earlier post from a few days ago), I settled in to spin some fine Z-twist singles that will go into an S-twist Navajo-style three ply done as usual from a Laotian plying bracelet. (My lovelies, do you wonder as I do if the Navajo and Laotians use these methods?)
What is it's purpose? Socks probably. For me!!!! It's about time for another pair in handspun, don't you think? Yes, I think so too!
Ah well. On to work on the pastel pages. I'll post again when I resurface. ;-))
