Busy, Busy, Busy!

Been wondering where I am and what I'm up to, my lovelies? I've been working on work stuff. I won't bore you with the details, though I find it exciting.

When I'm not doing that, playing with the dogs, cooking for my sweetie, or running off with my sweetie to join in the exploits of the Rat Pack, I've been making art! I've got tons of projects due or overdue even. When the project went on longer than expected, everything got rearranged and pushed aside or cancelled. So I've been working hard on multiple fronts.

First, I just finished and mailed off a bunch of charms for the arttechniques Yahoo Group's After the Holidays Charm Swap (first link is to the group and the second is to the blog for the swap). I love how they turned out! I saved some leftover prints from my BookArtz Museum Pages of Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroes and glued them to the back of some 1 cm x 3 cm dominoes I bought at one of my favorite art stores, Las Vegas Art Stamps with my very favorite adhesive, PPA (Perfect Paper Adhesive). Then I squirted a generous amount of Ranger Glossy Effects over the prints, making sure to cover the edges, and let them dry overnight. They were clear, beautiful, and glossy! So I used my Dremel to drill a small hole in the top of each, put a gold 2" head pin through, bent it back and wrapped it around it's own head then up and around to make the loop for the jump ring. Making them was almost like meditating but it sure wore my poor fingers out! I packaged them up with an identifying tag in a little baggie. Then they went winging off to Stacie for distribution yesterday.

So now that they are safely in the mail... (do not even THINK it!), I have been doing more on my altered book for the alteredbooks Yahoo Group's ABC Round Robin. (Again, the first link is to the group and the second is to the blog for the project.)
