I'm so DUHHH!
The very first blog I ever read and to which I was instantly addicted was Loretta Marvel's Pomegranates and Paper. From there, I found Autumn Cottage Diarist and found Roz Cawley who lives in a beautiful English cottage with a lovely garden, collecting wonderful books and other things. While I'm happy to be me, I've always wanted to be both of these talented women. I could be an artist/writer/mom/daughter/chef/lawyer living near NYC with my finger on the pulse of what's happening, right? OK, I could if the thought of being in NYC all alone didn't practically petrify me! I'm much more comfortable four-wheeling on top of a mountain somewhere in Colorado where there's no cell phone coverage than I'd ever be walking down a crowded street in New York.
OK, so maybe I can't be them. But I can get glimpses of their worlds enough to let me enjoy the fantasy of being them while remaining safely here in H-E-Double Hockeysticks, AZ, being me.
And the beauty of blogging and the internet is that I can do it all while I'm sitting here in my jammies!

You are so funny! Thanks for the compliment, and don't forget - I'm not all of those things, either! Pick and choose what you want to be, and follow your heart!
I am always threatening Roz that I am swimming cross the pond and coming to stay at Autumn Cottage forever.
Best of midwinter to you,
Loretta
