It just never seems to be fair when a younger animal comes into the home and takes over it's owner's blog, not to mention everyone's attention, the toys, the food dishes, water bowl, and all the best places in which to have a nice snooze. So when Mr. Smudge appeared Chez Grey, I wasn't a bit surprised when poor old Cat Stevens went into a decline and was feeling poorly for quite a while.
Maggie wondered what Smudge would look like in my crazy colors and here he is. But I had to be fair to Stevens and do her portrait too. So Stevens is above with the blue background and here's that naughty, indefatigable Mr. Smudge below. You'll notice he has a purple aura and it's complement sort of shimmers around him as he eats some flowers. He's always into something. Maggie is good about keeping us up to date with his latest exploits
here. Oops. Typos are hell, especially when you don't notice them at first. I must have had the cursor over this one when I was saving everything. I think I'll blame it on the lateness/earliness of the hour! I hope Maggie enjoys these portraits of her cats.

These are wonderful, Marilyn! Ala' Jane DaFazio but not in fabric? Very cool. Love the colors!
This is extra clever! To portray a cat well in it's proper colours is hard enough, but to do it in other colours is really special. They'd make good designs for all sorts of textile techniques.
Wabbit - I love them. They are really cool and Cat Stevens greatly appreciates the attention. They will be printed out and pinned above my desk.

These are wonderful too, Marilyn. I love the aura around Mr. Smudge. It really does shimmer.
Marilyn - these are great! they so reflect you and your wonderful sense of humor - hugs - Reva (Los Angeles)
I am so pleased that Maggie likes them!
And for the record, while it isn't easy to choose the colors, it is much easier than portraying an animal realistically, especially one with Smudge's coloring because of the darker tips.
Thank you everyone for wonderful comments!
Marilyn
I've just heard about your lost catalogue and can imagine how you must feel. Perhaps there is another one lying around out there somewhere just waiting to be tidied up? If you weren't so far away you could have one of mine.
